Hi all,
Bit of an odd query I know but just wondered what the average timescale for milk production stopping after you stop bf. Stopped a while ago but still producing milk

Any thoughts?

My daughter weaned me - had enuff of mums milk I guess as I would've kept feeding longer. Is now WAY longer than three months!

I was wondering this! DD2 weaned mid October and still have magnificent boobs that I have had since Aug 2004 - I have got quite used to them! Do I dare buy a new bra in this size??? Should I be a celebrity wet-nurse?

I think it depends on how long you have fed for - DS fed for 23 months, stopped in May last year, and I still have milk.

Wow, had no idea it went on that long. I stopped feeding 2 weeks ago .. or tried anyhow .. and was wondering why I was still feeling a bit full and lumpy. Have fed DS now and then to clear lumps. Oh well, guess I'll still feed him now and then whilst I can then, e.g. when he is poorly like now!

I'm only producing from one boob (my best and biggest ) and I stopped feeding DD2 in May. I fed her for 12 months.

I fed DD for 13 months after which she just stopped wanting to BF. Thought it was one of those things and continued trying for a while but she was def not interested anymore. Has now been 2 years and still have some milk coming from both breasts. Suddenly thought I should find out more as all my BF mum chums have long since stopped producing

I could still express a little colostrom after 3 yrs of not breastfeeding!! I did feed twins for over a year so I made A LOT of milk! I only stopped being able to do this when i fell pregnant!
