Vitamin supplements if you breastfeed beyond 6 Months?

Been told by HV that I should be giving these. I have never heard of them and DS2 is the 3rd child I have bf beyond 6 months. Do I really need to give them? Where do I get them from?

I've never heard this before. I presume you will be starting dc on solids now and that they would be getting any vitamins they need from that and you breastmilk. Seek a second opinion- maybe contact NCT or La Leche League and ask them xxx

Some health visitors recommend them as a standard for breastfed babies. Giving them is a personal choice. I chose not too as I had begun baby led weaning just after 6 months and did not feel the need. You can get them at boots or any other decent chemist. One word of note - They smell incredibly like fake orange. I know I would not want to consume them if I had a choice.

Will probably not bother then. DD and DS1 never hads them and they seem OK!

Sprout had them at first but you could get them free/cheap as chips from local PCT. Worth asking HV if there's such a scheme in your area?
When he started eating more I got more careless with them and then just admitted I didn't think he needed them and gave up.

There may have been another thread on here recently or I may have read something elsewhere (depserately helpful I know). Just had a load of stuff through including a book I bought from BabyMilkAction so no idea where I read anything feeding related recently!
