hmm let's see...
various cafes & restaurants
burger king
service stations
clifftop in Cornwall
US embassy...

still don't like doing it in public but preferable to ds screaming

bensmum3 · 25/06/2005 22:20

At first only in private, but tried to warm a bottle of expressed milk for dd at 6 months on a plane took so long and came back boiling, so breast fed anyway, and with ds1 and ds2 did it whenever and whereever they needed to, much to the distgust (at first) of my mother and husband.I think breastfeeding mum's should be proud, not embarrassed.

Flossam · 25/06/2005 22:22

Outside Covent Garden
In an estate agents.
In pub's beer garden.

loobywoof · 25/06/2005 22:41

Regarding the Antiques Roadshow Tipex, I don't know yet. It was only 2 weeks ago and it wont be on telly till Autumn.
On the subject of being a proud breastfeeder not an embarrassed one, I can tell you that I would actually be far more embarrassed to be seen in public feeding my baby with a bottle. This is even though I know that for me the contents would be EBM not formula. I am extremely proud to breastfeed and believe that the breastfeeding relationship is a wonderful prize rewarded to those that have determination and perserve throughout those early weeks with their first BF baby.

hercules · 25/06/2005 22:42

wtf?

Nightynight · 25/06/2005 22:52

they wont have the courage to show a breastfeeding mum on the Antiques Roadshow!

looby...have you been browsing other threads this evening???

loobywoof · 25/06/2005 22:56

Think I've just found the one you mean!! Should have kept my mouth shut but like lots of people I didn't have it easy in the beginning but I didn't give up. Quite new to mumsnet and haven't upset anyone before. Oops.

hercules · 25/06/2005 22:58

I think you will probably end up upsetting a lot of people with your earlier post.

Nightynight · 25/06/2005 23:02

lay off, hercules, she didnt mean to!

wysiwyg · 25/06/2005 23:03

Orinocho I had a similar experience to you. At a birthday party I found a quiet ish corner and started to feed, with a blanket draped around me a bit. Over comes the birthday boy's grandad, looks right down at my son, pulling back the blanket a bit, and says "Oh is he tired again"
"No" i reply with a grin and a "look".
He was quite embarassed when he realised.

Have also done the mile high bf.
Boss's office
Have to say I am quite fond of the newly refurbished Mothercare nursing rooms, with the swish chairs and water dispensers.

hercules · 25/06/2005 23:04

Lay off her???

I was hardly laying into her with a mouthful of abuse.

dinny · 25/06/2005 23:25

Loobywoof, apologies if not the case but have feeling MN not entirely unknown to you...

edam · 25/06/2005 23:26

can't think of any glamorous/exciting locations but on a bench on Clapham Common (v. embarrassed man sat down realised what was going on and buggered off, fast...), in restaurants (one was the sort where the waiters all line up ready to spring into action - so they all had a VERY good view), the cinema, anywhere and everywhere.

The Severn Valley Railway held a train in the station specially for my sister to finish feeding her ds, bless them (they did want to shunt it into the sidings but waited for baby).

loobywoof · 25/06/2005 23:29

About 4 weeks I think. Is that long enough to know better? All I can do is apologise.

Nightynight · 25/06/2005 23:43

Ive posted a few things that I cringe a bit about now. mumnset posts are made in the spirit of conversation, but are writ in tablets of stone!

My MP is my next door neighbour!
Sadly my dh is far away in Turkey....
