HELP! Milk in the wrong bits of my pump!

I have an electric pump, and was just using it when a funny noise happened and I saw milk going up the suction tube towards the electric bit! What do I do? DD is only 2 weeks, and I have only used the pump three times!

either you have assembled it wrong

or your valves aren't working - some of them work best when not completely dry, so splosh them under the tap before you start

with a two week old my money is on the first option...

On the phone to mothercare, they are sending me a new one. Will take a few days though, looks like I will be hand expressing for a bit! I'm meant to be meeting friends for a quick drink (first trip out without baby!) on friday and need milk for my mum to feed the baby.
