When does your breastmilk go away from your boobies?

I finished BF'ing DS who is now 20 months about 6 months ago, my boobs still leak when he cries and they leak in the bath!!
They are itchy too. I haven't been doing anything to "encourage them" and they are tingly and tickly and a tad sore now, any advice?

This is normal, I'm afraid. Don't express, obviously. The leaking etc should decrease over time. (I'm assuming here that it has never stopped, since you stopped BF?)

It did seem to stop, when we finished BF'ing but now it seems to be coming back again! That's what I find odd....thanks for the reply

I haven't bf for 18 months, but can still express some, but it never went away

There are 2.8 years between my kids and I never stopped lactating between the two. I only fed DD1 for four months.

Never went away ?? Really? Eek... and since I had sex for the first time last week since Feb it's unlikely that I could be pg innit

I stopped lactating when DD was 3.9 or thereabouts.

never stopped between dd age 3.5 and ds 2 weeks! i fed dd to 8 months.

My DS only bf for 10 days (not through lack of trying, the lazy tike just wouldn't take to it and guzzled for life when given a bottle ) but I expressed for a couple of months. Mine didn't stop leaking for about 2 years!

Gosh the only people I sprayed were my babies. Quite annoying to find a soaking wet baby and large patch of duvet too after a night feed.
