Okay so this is going to sound really daft but I am stupidly excited about this so had to share.
Basically I had a breast reduction 9 years ago so breast feeding is possibly going to be a bit hit and miss (have one nipple that doesnt really work anymore). Anyhow am 30 weeks pregnant with my first and in last few weeks if I squeezed the nipple I would occasionally get tiny pinpricks of colostrum so this raised my hopes a little I may be able to feed. Anyhow today I was reading on a breast feeding thread about squeezing your boob like a hamburger to offer it to your LO so I decided to try it (as you do!) and got great big dribbles of colostrum from both boobs and while was clear from working boob was orange from "non-working" boob (the orangy stuff is best right?). So this is a pretty good sign that I will hopefully be able to feed especially as this is going on at 30 weeks and have another 10 weeks for boobs to get into proper milk production mode. HURRAH.
Seriously happy about this- so thankyou mumsnet for making me squeeze my boobs like a hamburger!
