Okay dd didn't take ebm in a bottle till she was 9 months.

DS is now 13 weeks and for the last week I've been trying to get him to take a bottle of ebm so I can have a bit of time off now and then.

I'm using NUK bottles as that was what dd used.

I'm trying him before he gets too hungry and he seems to suck then he makes a face like it tastes horrible. I have tried expressing then giving it straight to him so it's fresh.

I also sit him in his bouncy chair or get dh to do it.

Any advice welcome.

You could try a different type of bottle / teat. you could try it cold, but the reality is (I'm sorry to say) that some babies take expressed milk and some don't.
My DD would never have any milk from a bottle expressed or otherwise until 7 months. however DS took anything and everything from anyone!!
wish I had more advice for you and maybe someone wiser than I will come along after the school run!!
thinking of you though xx

Perhaps he doesn't like bottles, my ds3 wouldn't have had one at that age.

I had this exact problem at this age with my DD (now 8 months). THe only thing you can do is keep offering - eventually for no apparent reason he may take it. It is depressing though, as you need to do it every couple of days so lot of expressing involved. My main tip is when he does take it - keep giving him a bottle every couple of days - if you stop he may well forget/go back to refusing - my DD did and I had to start the whole process again after thinking I'd cracked it.

DS1 wouldn't take a bottle of anything until 2 days before I had to go back to work at 7 months. I tried just about every sort of teat - and eventually he took one particular variflo one, but not sure if that was what did the trick or if he just happened to be willing that day. Might be worth a try though.

Persevere. You will get there but keep trying every day - preferably when he's not starving and not tired - I favoured the middle of the day.

Thanks for the advice, I tried a cup this morning and he took half an ounce, thats the best so far. I wonder if it was the Nuk teats that he didn't like and maybe he'd be better with something smaller like the tommy tippee ones hmmmm, will keep trying.
