8 month old not interested in BFing - is this the start of a nursing strike

DS has never been the addict to BFing my DD was. DS down to 3 feeds a day and one feed at night at 8 months. However today he has had no BFs at all. He refused before both naps today. I've resorted to BFing before naps as he is too distracted during the day and does not seem to find BFing a great comfort .

DS is eating solids like a trooper mainly self feeding and some days I think he is going to pop with so much food, eats much more than DD.

You can't self wean at this age I presume, can they go on nursing strike. I'm just sad that my last baby doesn't seem to like my BM .

Hope your ds has had a bf by now. I had similar experience with ds2, now 2.5 but still amazed at his self weaning at 12 months. Also never seemed to find bf a great comfort, so unlike ds1, and briefly went on a nursing strike around 9months which I attributed to teething? Found baby whisperer website very helpful.

Thanks took one feed before bed and one at night, but again refused BF before nap today. He just doesn't seem interested in BFing. He is teething so that might explain it. I BF DD until she was nearly 2 at the moment can't seet much point in BFing DS beyond one as he is already taking so little.

DS1 self-weaned at about 8MO, DS2 is now 9MO and fights for his right to BF so I'll continue a bit longer. Thank god the biting is over now...
