one breast sore and engorged, the other is fine

what's going on?

dd2 is 8 weeks old and exlusively bf

she has a favourite side but i do all i can to make sure she is fed from both sides as equally as poss

her favourite side is sore, engorged and leaky whereas the other side is fine

i am feeding from that side atm but it doesn't feel as though any of the pressure is being released iyswim

any ideas?

She's finished the feed now and my left nork still feels full and sore.

We're driving from Lincolnshire to Cornwall tomorrow and I will be squirting all the way at this rate

why only one side?

whydoesn't anyone caaaaaaaaaare?

my super boob was like this as well, and i broke all the rules and completely emptied it with the pump and started again on the advice of my (Russian) mil.

Is it fully engorged or just part of it? Have a feel - I had something like that in one boob. I thought it was engorged til I felt round and realised it was just the top of the boob. Midwife said it was beginnings of mastisis so to cure it I had to get DS feeding every two hours whilst massaging to clear the boob (he got frustrated feeding as difficult to draw the milk so switched him to other boob so he got fed properly!) and using a hot compress before a feed. Cold compress between feeds. It took four feeds but cleared quickly.

Not sure what else it could be!
