i have had boob pain for about 2 days now. I exclusively BF DD2 aged 12 weeks.
the pain is more of an ache really like when your period is due or when you have been lifting weights? it comes and goes. i also occasionally get a sharp pain in side of boob. i have has the odd pain every so often but this is consistently there so now begining to worry that it could be an infection. no lumps or redness.

TIA for sharing your experiences

Not sure - but I had mastitis and the thing I remember most was v hot red breasts and feeling so v v ill as though with flu. Indeed, I could barely lift myself from the sofa. I can't actually recall it starting as a dull ache or pain - I just remember the redness and hotness. If you get anything like that, you must contact your GP straight away for antibiotics... HTH

Is the area around the nipple smooth and shiny? if so could be thrush check the symptoms on the breastfeeding networks website.

If so go to doc's for some treatment, and make sure they give treatment for dc too.

HTH

I had something similar a few weeks ago having bf ds for 7mths with no pain at all and from looking at old threads on here the only answers I could come up with were that I was either pregnant or about to get my period well neither were true for me and the pain went away in a couple of days but might be for you? Maybe see your doctor if it continues?

no shine around nipple, definetly not pregnant. I do get that about to start period feeling sometimes in stomach.
