Can I go away for a week or is this the end for BF (DS 17m)?

I have to go away for a week in January (DS will be 17m) and it's getting me down already.
I really struggled to BF, and now it's going really well and we're both enjoying it.
A mum of 4 told me she could stop BF for 2 weeks and carry on as if nothing had happened.
But I did struggle with my supply and was on Domperidone for about 6 months.
What do you think?

I went away for just under a week twice in a month (for work) when I was breastfeeding my boy, he was around 19 months at the time. Each time he just picked up as normal when I returned. However, I've had no trouble with supply so not sure how helpful this is to you.

I would try not worry about it too much in advance as you never know how you'll both feel about it by then! (much easier said than done, I was tearing myself up with guilt before I went away the first time!)

I can't help thinking "Only 2 months left now...". It's making me very sad.
It's good to hear positive stories though. Thank you.

I also went away recently for a week for work (DS 3 in Jan), and went away last year for a week too when he was coming up for 2.

Last year I think I did do a little pump with an avent pump in the mornings after my shower, just to maintain the tiniest bit, but this year I didn't bother at all.

DS has picked up where he left off both times.

I don't see why it should be a problem, especially if you can pump occasionally during the week.

I have a hand pump but never managed to express anything with it. I used to rent an electrical one when he was wee. Maybe I can rent it again. It'd be worth it.

I went away for work quite a bit when I was bfing, and didn't have a problem. When DS was littler and feeding a lot, I took my electric double pump with me (rather than renting a pump, I'd buy an Ameda Lactaline on ebay which will be cheaper and you can sell it on afterwards), but later when it was only 2 feeds a day I just hand expressed in the shower or bath - it's amazingly effective and quick to do
