is this normal? he will latch on happily, suck for a couple of minutes, then come off screaming blue murder, before latching on again, sucking a bit, then coming off screaming again - for up to an hour at a time, although last night it was for 5 long long hours...
We burp him (over the shoulder), try cuddling him against our chests (although he keeps pulling DPs chest hair, which,whilst highly amusing for me, doesn't endear him to his father) to calm him down, and rock him for a bit to calm him, but it's all night long at the moment. (baby cluster feeds in late evening, sleeps for a couple of hours, then cluster feeds through the early hours too...)
it doesn't seem to be related to how full my breasts are, as sometimes he does it at the beginning of a feed, but sometimes he'll feed happily to start with before starting to fuss after 10-15 minutes.
I'm not planning to give up BF, but would love to know if anyone else has experienced this, and if so, any tips for how to deal with it?
