DD throwing hissy fits when I say no to breast

I am trying to wean her off but it sooo difficult. At night if I deny her the boob she throws a proper hissy fit with huge tears. I am always knackered so I give up. I don't want to go on for ever. help!

She is 15.5 months now and I want to give it up slowly.

what alternatives are you offering?
at 15m during the day dd could often be distracted by water, cows' milk in a cup, a snack and/or a cuddle, depending on why she was asking to feed.
Night was another matter - didn;t even start to stop night feeds till she was 18m using an adaptation of Jay Gordon's advice
