Attitudes to breastfeeding in rural France?

We're off on our hols to France next week, staying in a village with some friends who live out there. Does anyone know what the attitude is likely to be to me feeding dd who is 9 months? Would it be best kept in private, or could I give her a quick nosh while we're out for lunch without offending the locals? We're generally fairly discreet though she can be quite distractable and do the old "pull off and leave boob on show" when she's getting to the end of a feed.

Lived in la Creuse for a year, and you don't get much more rural than that! Normal enough to see mums breastfeeding, just be discreet about it, obviously if it's her that's pulling off and leaving you exposed, not a problem Know the feeling, ds is fond of this also...;)

I took DS to Burgundy last year, and no-one batted an eyelid.
