Toddler weaned, period came one week early

The title says it all really - my DD is 2.5 years old and weaned last Tuesday. My period, which has been regular since it came back when she was 14 months old, arrived today just over a week early, very unusual for me!

Is this the norm for those who've recently weaned their babies or toddlers?

Is it definitely your period?

Could it be implantation bleeding?

It's definitely my period...

We haven't weaned yet, so no experience of this, but if you think of all the hormones involved, I wouldn't be surprised if the stopping had something to do with it.

After I freaked out (my cycle is usually like clockwork), then I suspected it might be because of BF. No mishaps with birth control AFAIK so no implantation bleeds, methinks...
