Breast, changed to bottle at 6 months

pixiefish · 31/05/2005 21:44

breast. still am

handlemecarefully · 31/05/2005 21:47

breast for first five months - then with huge monumental sigh of relief switched to bottle.

Happy with my choice, and not judgemental about people who exclusively bottle feed at one end of the spectrum or people who long term breast feed at the other end of the spectrum. Each to their own.

wordsmith · 31/05/2005 21:51

Breast exclusively for about 2weeks, then breast and bottle (formula), with breast fizzling out after about 3/4 months.

Bottle.

Windermere · 31/05/2005 22:13

I think you are bored...... but so am I so I will answer anyway. Breast for 2 days, breast/bottle for 2 weeks. Bottle thereonwards. Lots of things conspired against breastfeeding but hopefully next time I will try harder and will succeed.

potty1 · 31/05/2005 22:15

Ds1 breast for 2 weeks then bottle.

Ds2 breast for 6 weeks then mixed for about 4 then bottle.

Dd breast for 8 weeks then mixed, then tube fed formula - bit gutted about that as she was my last chance to make a real go of it and circumstances mean't I couldn't.

breast tried desperately (dangerously?) then had to change to bottle

breast to 12 months (never a bottle)

breast =fail=sodding bottle

Baby comes first and if it was left to "nature" then I would have ended up with one child instead of three as nature does.

wordsmith · 31/05/2005 22:27

hasn't this developed into a row yet?

handlemecarefully · 31/05/2005 22:29

No and it's not going to
No and it's not going to
No and it's not going to
No and it's not going to
No and it's not going to
No and it's not going to...

(thought that if I repeated it often enough it might become a self fulfilling prophecy)

snafu · 31/05/2005 22:32

Why on earth should it? It's just a question!

handlemecarefully · 31/05/2005 22:33

Hang on, Snafu is here - so it might turn into a row

snafu · 31/05/2005 22:33

Wash your mouth out, hmc

I'm a good girl, I am.

handlemecarefully · 31/05/2005 22:34

erm - was just joking Snafu in case you're wondering....

handlemecarefully · 31/05/2005 22:34

Ah - posts crossed. Glad you realised i was pulling your leg!

wordsmith · 31/05/2005 22:35

Just a question? there's no such thing on MN. Every question conceals a lighted touchpaper.... (OK I will go now)

snafu · 31/05/2005 22:35

Oh, I was rather hoping I'd developed a 'reputation'. Must try harder, eh?

snafu · 31/05/2005 22:36

No, there are lots of people who look for touchpaper where there is none...imo, of course

handlemecarefully · 31/05/2005 22:38

Wordsmith, ikwym - however you must agree that this subject is not nearly as controversial and cutting edge as designer clothes for toddlers, and nude kids on the beach!

Yep - we mumsnetters can have a good old spat about virtually anything under the sun

WigWamBam · 31/05/2005 22:39

Lighted touchpaper? Where?

Breast, for two years.

snafu · 31/05/2005 22:40

LOl wwb, you scamp.
