NUK

(I think DrB is possibly anti-colic?)

rubyslippers · 24/08/2009 10:13

Tommee Tippee close to nature

shootfromthehip · 24/08/2009 10:13

NUK- I used it to transfer between breast and bottle (at 6mths) and DS seemed to take to it ok.

motomoto · 24/08/2009 10:14

Is it the Breastflow one?

For what it's worth I used NUK wide neck bottles for bottle feeds when breast feeding and both dds took to them with no problems.

KnickKnack · 24/08/2009 10:17

NUK looks like an ordinary teat, but it has the hole on the underneath side, not at the tip...so the milk squirts into the mouth in a manner very similar to breastfeeding.

angrypixie · 24/08/2009 10:18

The close to nature is breast shaped and mine took it from about 6 weeks with ebm and swapped readily between breast and bottle showing no confusion or preference.

picc · 24/08/2009 10:29

DS has taken ebm and bits of formula from a NUK bottle since about 6 weeks (now 6 months) and I've never had any trouble getting him to move between breast and bottle.
Even when he was very fussy at the beginning, and I had supply issues (from being told to top-up at 2 weeks), the bottle never added to the problems (if that makes sense!!)
I did feed him with a syringe until 6 weeks, though.

found close to nature flowed too fast for my LO.

pigletmania · 24/08/2009 22:32

Tomee Tipee closer to nature

Breastflow is supposed to mimick breastfeeding as they have to work for milk to come out. Although my little one wont take it, think that mite be because we got him used to T T closer to nature?
So for us its the T T. He has breast and bottle no probs.

AngryWasp · 26/08/2009 12:39

I personally think these things are a rip off. Nothing is close to bfing. Getting a baby to take milk from any source is simply about practice and timing.

motomoto · 28/08/2009 09:31

well, dd can drink from the NUk really easily, hurrah

The breastflow bottles are fab, their mouth is in a very similar position to when on the breast not like a normal bottle feeding teat.
