Breast feeding after being stung by a wasp?

I know this probably sounds really stupid but am I o.k to breastfeed after being stung by a wasp. I imagine the poison is minimal.

How long until the pain goes away I cant believe how much it hurts. OUCH!!!

I was stung last week and the doctor gave me a first generation anti-histamine that you can take while bfing (and pregnant). The initial burning pain took 24 hours to subside, then I got pain from huge swelling up of my foot, and overall it took almost a week to go down, at which point I found a huge sting in there - must have been left when I pulled the wasp off, and disguised by the swelling, so check carefully!

ps nurofen with codeine in really helped me sleep through the pain that night

Luckily one of the mums at the park took the sting out for me and poured water on it.

There was something left in my arm where the sting was.

The lumpiness is going now.

yes it's fine, but if there was a sting left in then it wasn't a wasp as wasps don't lose their sting.

you can take loritadine (usually in one a day non drowsy allergy tablets) and something acidic is best to dab on it as wasp stings are alkaline....vinegar is good.

I got stung last week and it hurt for about half an hour and was only mildly itchy after that. I was surprised at how mild it was and will certainly be a lot less twitchy around wasps in future.

or if it was a bee sting something with amonia in as bee stings are acidic!

Although according to QI some wasps do lose their sting and most bees don't...

Fine to breastfeed unless it stung you on your nipple, in which case it would probably be a bit painful.

It was definately a wasp sting.

I would have cleared the park if my boobs had been out so defo not the nipple

This is going to sound weird, but put a bit of breastmilk on the sting... it should help it to go down quicker.

I'll try that it's itching like mad today.
