changing pattern constantly

7week old baby - 5 weeks early..

yesterday day fed 2.5 hourly.. for about 30-45mins each time

night time fed 1.5 hourly for 15min each time..

so far today just 5min snacking..

is this usual?

every day his pattern is different.. just want some reassurance that this is normal!

Thanks - he did not keep the sleeping through the night thing up for very long - both Friday and Sat (yesterday) nights were unsettled. DH sleeps in the spare room weeknights so he is rested for work the next day, and in our room the rest of the time.. but it makes me so jealous that he can just stay there sleeping... and still complain about how tired he is in the morning!
We are expecting friends today, who are late, and all I really want to do is go back to bed.
Oh dear I can hear the baby crying so better go x

Hey hairband. My seven-week old (though not premature) baby is doing exactly this. Sometimes having a huge feed and sleeping for three or four hours, sometimes eating every hour and fussing... sometimes sleeping five or six hours straight at night, then some more in the morning, and sometimes grizzling all night. Glad to hear this is all normal! Lots of my NCT group are getting their babies into three-hourly routines, but DS just doesn't seem to be reading the same books as them!
