Arnica gel on cracked nipples?

What do you think? Can I use it? I have googled but some say yes some say no. And it hurts now.

We have got to 7 months with no problems and then I started to feel a bit sore Sunday night, but now it has got worse. Its just on the right side, I think their is a crack on the underneath of the nipple, but no discoloration.

Should I keep feeding or only from the right side? Will it make it worse or help it heal?
I dont have Lahnisol only Kamillosan.

Arnica is usually for bruising so might not be the best for cracked nipples. If you want a herbal cream, calendula might be more appropriate but check for BF contr-indications.

Have you checked your baby's mouth for thrush? That can cause really sore nipples and breast pain.

Otherwise, I've always found Lansinoh to be the best, much better than Kamillosan. It's expensive but, hey, you're worth it!

Second Lansinoh, was 1/2 price at Sainsbos the other day, might still be on offer.

The pain has eased up now and I have been using just the Kamillosan. I couldnt afford the Lansinoh at the moment but will save my pennies next week just incase.

Arnica should never be used on broken skin

You could also try the herbal remedy solution of cabbage leaves in the bra - worth a try?

I've never used it for this, but I used a cabbage poultice on a really sore throat when nothing else had worked, and it helped.

Wonder if lansinoh is available on prescription? Bloody well should be!

try calendula on broken skin not arnica . arnica for bruises ,not broken skin ,calendula for healing .
