ds2 is 11 weeks and exclusively breastfed. I fully intended to express early on to get him used to a bottle for when i return to work but only got 5oz (in freezer) before thrush set in, went briefly then returned. Also, because he feeds so frequently, there never seemed to be the time to sterilise when I had enough milk left. I dud try expressing while feeding but found it very tricky when trying to supervise my two year old at the same time.

Fingers crossed, the thrush seems to be almosr clear in both of us now and my one week return to work before the summer holidays is looming. I am conscious that I need to a) get into a routine of exoressing b) get ds2 used to the bottle c) bulid up a supply in the freezer for the one week in mid july. Will worry about September and my proper return to work later.

Does anyone have any thoughts/advice eyc to help get me going>

tia

Hi
I am going through the same thing. I go back for 2 weeks in June then off for 6 weeks for summer hols and back in August and want to only give ds breast milk. I feed from just one side for morning feed and express about 6 oz from other side. I am hoping that head will find a decent and private place for me to express twicw during he day when I go back - even if I haveto use her office. They are duty bound to provide a warm, comfy and private place for expressing - not the toilets - and have to supply fridge space for storage. Contact your union rep if ness.

I am also trying to increase my supply to express more oftern by taking Solgar's Brewers Yeast tablets and Fenugreek Tea Compound from health food shop.

Good luck.

Did you try, or your dh? If you tried, or even if you were in the room, then your ds might have refused because he knew there was a "better" alternative !

Dh tried and I was away in the kitchen...

Will try again tonight

Did you know your company is legally obliged to provide you with a place to express, a room that locks and a fridge to sore expressed milk
