Should we give our 5 wk old 7oz???

Our 5 week old son is currently finishing 6oz of aptamil and then crying again after 2-2.30 hours. He's having about 6 feeds a day, but can go 7 hours between feeds at night! Is this normal and should we go up to 7oz? Is this not too much for such a young baby (mind you he is 11lbs 12!) Any advice greatfully received...

if he is draining the 6oz then yes... it is normal for your baby. the info on teh tin of formula is a guide. clearly your baby is quite a hungry boy. if he was over feeding he would be throwing up what he could not hold.

the frequency of feeds is also normal and will probably not stretch that much during the day for a while yet

carry on feeding him on demand/responsively and you can't go far wrong

How about just feeding him every 2-2.5hrs . It's not good for little babies to go a long time between food and it's normal for them to want to feed little and often.
