Well.. it's been 3 hours since dd last fed!

She's 6 weeks and has cluster fed every evening between 5.30 and 11.30 but today 5.30, 7.30 and she's still asleep (on me admittedly)

Hopefully this is the cluster ending - and not that she's just moved it to 11.30 to 4.30am!!

Oh.
Blessed relief!
Enjoy the (short lived) peace.

Make the most of it and get some sleep!

mamakim · 16/06/2009 23:06

I would have done but i was expecting her to want a feed constantly!

She's feeding now, please please do not have shifted your cluster feeding period to the middle of the night.

we had similar problem at that stage! it's exhausting!!!

he managed a few evenings like that between 3-6 weeks but by 7 weeks he had started to grow out of them and was sleeping much better!

fingers crossed!!!

Sorry for my ignorance - but what is cluster feeding?

mrsflux · 17/06/2009 11:38

cluster feeding is feeding lots over a relatively short space of time - usually in the evening to top them up for the night.
my DS would feed for 20 mins every hour between 4 and 10. i'm so glad he doesn't do that anymore!

charx · 17/06/2009 14:17

oh thank you mrsFlux. That's exactly what my DD is doing and why I have no time - so much so that I'm still in my PJs!

mamakim · 17/06/2009 15:18

My dd would feed for an hour, stop for 10 mins then feed again, this went on for 4 hours every night!

I don't understand where all that milk could possibly go! even when dh gave here 4oz of ebm she's immediatly be back on the boob for more.

I wouldn't mind if she was tanking up for the night but she'd be up at 2am for a feed.

well last night was a fluke and she's clustered more than ever tonight!
