When is it safe to give a newborn gripewater??

I had my little girl friday!! she's lovely, full of wind though! when is it safe to give gripe water? x

Hiya, congratulations, think gripe water is from 1 month if my memory serves me right, think infacol is from birth though, might be worth a try.

From 1 month I think. TBH though, i never found it did all that much good though. DS1 had this problem for about the first 3 or 4 weeks (and on and off after). Eventually it just seemed to sort itself out, which I know is not a lot of help when you've got a screaming baby - I remember wanting to cheerfully throttle my HV who told me this at the time .

Tangas - congrats on newborn....what makes you think she has wind? She's only 2 days old, and if she is crying and distressed, she probably just needs to be tucked in close to you
