My sis has just phoned to ask as she's been bitten and having a nasty reaction but can't find the instructions for the Piriton.

Many thanks

Not officially. There are 2 diff kinds AFAIK.

However, i was prescribed it by hosp when i had cholestasis.

Has she no anti hist8mine cream she could use instead?

it seems to be safe here

it's been prescribed to me by several GPs when pregnant and breastfeeding

it can cause drowsiness in the baby (and mother) though, so bear that in mind

It is not recommended because it could make the baby very sleepy and miss feeds.

I took it when my ds was a bit bigger (he was either 6 or 18 months because it was summer time!) and he napped for four hours that day. It wasn't an issue for him as an older baby, but a young one might run into trouble if they were too sleepy to feed.
