I was silly yesterday and need advise.

I went to a party yesterday with friends and family. At the party I had a couple of ciggs. Dont know why I was so stupid I gave up as soon as I found out i was pg. I am breast feeding and was wondering what danger I have put my baby in!!!

I should add that I didn't smoke around dc but I did bf after smoking... dc is 14 weeks...

The article mentions that next to giving up the best option is to "Cut down. The less you smoke, the smaller the chance that difficulties will arise. The risks increase if you smoke more than 20 cigarettes per day."

I doubt that a couple of cigarettes smoked on one occasion will have an effect on your baby via breastmilk. Of course it is healthy to not smoke at all if possible and it wouldn't be an idea to take up smoking again.

Definately breastfeedb you baby as normal and try not to worry too much.
