in the Times today

She says that a normal, healthy baby should feed every three to four hours and that feeding every hour shows that something is wrong. Ey? What happened to feeding on demand? What happened to cluster-feeding a newborn? If I had gone by that advice when mine were tiny then I would have thought I was doing something wrong, but I don't think I was!

Tiktok, any other experts here who can enlighten me on what the most up-to-date advice is?

ionesmum - it's been clear to me that DH does not regard childcare as tiring at all........until yesterday. He got up 2 nights in a row as DS was waking a lot. Obviously he was knackered, but came home last ngiht in a really foul mood and started ranting at me 'I can't possibly get up as much at night any more. I'm exhausted; it's f*cking dangerous for the patients that I'm operating when I'm so tired. It's too bloody dangerous for me to even drive'

Oh the joy I had in replying, 'but it's perfectly safe for me to look after our infant all day AND sort the laundry AND shop AND try to write my thesis when DS is napping AND go to baby groups....'
