ok so have decided to give DS a bottle even tho didnt really want to start at age 1. but now worried that he'll wake up wanting that every night. am going to gradually be stopping bfeeding over nxt 6 wks and at the same time trying to kep him in his own cot and own room; wakes quite a bit at the mo and always ends up in bed.
how has anyone dealt with this?

DD was exactly the same - woke in the night a few times and always ended up bfing and in bed with us.
I cut out the day time bfs first (one at a time) and replaced with sippy cups, distracted her with jolly play etc and she hardly noticed. Then I cut out night feeds. When she cried DH comforted her (and me!) (She would have gone bonkers if had). The first night she cried lots, the second was much better - 10 mins then back in her cot. Once we had done that it seemed silly to go back. The next night she just moaned a bit in her cot, not need for cuddle. And that was it! She has slept through since then (except for teeth etc). She is still in our room though!
Last feed to go was the bedtime one which she was upset for about 10 mins (while I had a bath) DH gave her sippy cup of warm milk and cuddles. Next night she didn't even want bf. I was sadder than her.
HTH - there isn't much info on stopping bf is there!
