frequent slimy poo in breastfed 4 month old

For the past three days my baby has been pooing very frequently, night and day. The colour and texture vary, but I am a bit concerned that it is often slimy. She is otherwise perfectly well and her usual happy self.

Does this mean mucus is present and there is some mild GI infection or, more worryingly, a reaction to something in my diet? I've not eaten anything unusual lately...

Any thoughts or experience would be appreciated!

DS had slimy poo, I posted about it on a number of occasions!
His poo got better and he was more settled in himself when I cut out caffeine, and cut down on dairy. I avoided milk, yoghurt, cheese and ice cream, but didn't eliminate things with dairy in, like chocolate muffins.
After a couple of months I reintroduced both caffeine and dairy and he's been fine.

If this has been a very sudden change, she may have a bit of a bug though, so it might be worth taking her to the GP.

Thanks! I am a bit about it too.
I live on dairy and drink lots of tea so maybe I'll have to try a drastic change in diet... about the icecream as the weather is getting better!

I've been a hermit this week, in case it is some kind of bug, as it would not be fair to expose any other babies to it.

I drank Fennel tea, as I was trying to up supply due to skinny DS and Rooibos/Redbush tea was nice too.

I found milk, yoghurt and icecream to be the worst offenders, so even just cutting those might help.

ice lollies would be fine though!
