i saw that before and cringed the whole way though.

as a lover of breastfeeding and breast fed both children, if i had seen that before i had children it would have put me RIGHT off!

mumblecrumble · 19/05/2009 22:17

[I am horrible]

[having nightmares thinking if DD was to draw my saggy milk sacks at nursery...]

what about the 10 year old who said she is looking forward to having boobs when she is older so she can drink her own milk.... cant remember exact words because so it long time ago.

MamaHobgoblin · 19/05/2009 22:19

God, I hated that docu. I reckon it did more to connect breastfeeding with wierdness in people's minds than anything else, up to and including Little Britain.

Was it a Daisy Goodwin masterpiece, or am I imagining things?

wastingmyeducation · 19/05/2009 22:19

So what did we miss in the first 15 mins?

mumblecrumble · 19/05/2009 22:20

I am liing this young lass whos a peer supporter [I know the lingo now!!!!}

hunkermunker · 19/05/2009 22:20

The programme was only made so that people could laugh at breastfeeding.

Good for the ratings, apparently.

I expect there'll be another one in the autumn.

SOME television producers really have very little imagination.

devotion · 19/05/2009 22:21

MamaHobgoblin - exactly! when i saw it i thought wtf? the makers of this knew exactly what they were doing.

i just hope not too many young girls saw this.

mumblecrumble · 19/05/2009 22:23

My humour has changed to ANGER.

A really good opportunity to show that fullterm feeding can be acceptable and normal.

See. Lady is feeding her twins for the last time then going cold turkey..... I am now thinking this is what made me worry about stopping feeding.

BASTARDS stupid telly makin BASTARDS

sorry, I know this is olde news..... am very much appreciating the commeradery as I am home alone and have been poorly and bored

Holy shite. I;d forgotten the dad fed too....

MamaHobgoblin · 19/05/2009 22:29

I do remember the Spanish woman getting really a bit too elated that her adopted girl had taken a teeny spoonful of breastmilk - I thought she fetishised the stuff. It was a bit worrying.

Ch4 are never going to be interested in putting forward the normal, representative side of breastfeeding, but there again, they distort and sensationalise medical conditions, relationships and pretty much everything else too.

wastingmyeducation · 19/05/2009 22:29

8! Wow. Hmm...

wastingmyeducation · 19/05/2009 22:29

8! Wow. Hmm...

wastingmyeducation · 19/05/2009 22:30

Oops.

mumblecrumble · 19/05/2009 22:33

Is there really another one coming?

Maybe we shoudl make our own.

I could be the plump, fun loving mum who forgot she hadn;t breast fed her kid for a week cos a collegue got sick.....

Not really enough drama....

Though I only fed from one side and my DH did taste it now and again....hmmmm

I did feed it to my Aidty's dog who had 3 legs and he grew a new one.......

mumblecrumble · 19/05/2009 22:34

Last bit was a lie I would tell them to get them interested.
