After two months of trying, stopping and starting again, buying every bottle/teat/cup on the market and patience trying bottle pushing screaming sessions my DD is now taking two bottles of formula a day ready for my return to work with bf morn and night . She was succesfully fed in nursery today and took bottle with no fuss . It can be done!

got the breastbottle, ds3 is so funny, he sucks on it all right but then obviously catches himself doing it and starts to roar! He is so determined!!

chipmonkey, i looked at your breastbottle link, it looks good...how does it work out when you use it? ds (14 wks) has just had his second bottle (ebm) in a week, after refusing bottles before & i have to say, another vote for NUK here. tempted by idea of breastbottle tho!

He took 150ml from it today but under protest! He does look exactly like he is bf'ing when he does suck! tbh if your baba will take the NUK bottle I would stick with it. The breastbottle is a bit fiddly to use, you can't heat it in a conventional bottlewarmer, you have to either sit it in a saucepan of hot water or heat the milk first and then fill it. The markings are "upside-down" which makes it hard to check how much baby has drunk without dripping it everywhere! Having said that, Iwould think that there would be less likelihood of him eventually preferring the bottle to the breast when he does get used to it, as happened with my niece.
