Starting to introduce formula at 8months and worried about too much weight gain

DD3 has always been a hungry baby and has a 'heathy covering' of fat. I get many comments on her chubby cheeks and thighs but they have never worred me as I have breastfed her so I felt she couldnt be over feeding.

Now that I am starting to give her bottles of formula in the day and she is starting to eat more, I suddenly feel worried about how much formula she is taking and that I could start to over feed her. I plan to keep up the morning and nightime feed for a while longer so it is just two day time ff.

I have blw her so it has been a bit slow to start eating solids but now she is really taking off and is eating more now.

So I guess I am asking if she is having 2 breastfeeds a day and sometimes one in the night, what would be a good ammount of formula to give in the day.

I dont remember worrying this much about swapping with the other two! Funny how having babies seems to wipe your memory of how you did things before!

at that age I think ds took about 6/7oz in his daytime feeds.

Thanks seona. I know it sounds silly and if she was on the lower end of the weight centiles, I wouldnt worry.

She is having two feeds in the day so will prob give her 6oz at each one and see how she goes.
