DS2, 8 months, is down to 1 bf and 2 ff a day with his bf 1st thing in the morning. He's done this now for about a week having dropped a bf at about 11.30am himself.

Will I be able to carry on only giving him 1 bf?
And should I swap sides each day or pick a side and only use that side?

Also, and this might sound like a silly question, if my supply runs out presumably he'll just stop sucking and I'll know he's not getting any? At the moment I can't really tell if he's drinking anything, don't really notice him swallowing, not like when he was tiny.

I carried on with just one, but mine was last thing at night. I think you can just go on as long as you both are happy with it. The supply won't suddenly run out as long as he carries on feeding. Can't remember about swapping sides, but imagine that I did, just to keep things going. But if he's sucking and there's nothing coming out, does it really matter?! Lots of comfort at least for him, closeness etc for you.

I'm sure you'll both just carry on like this for a while.

My dd started to drop off breast feeds at night it got to one early morning then every other day then a few days inbetween until she stopped and started to sleep through, apparently your supply just adjusts i found this a nice natural way to end the breast feeds she was 8 months when it came to an end (she went onto formula in the day when i weaned her)

Forgot to add i think i tried to alternate sides if i could remember which is difficult with days in between!
