B/feeding and diet: anyone know any good reading?

Just wondering if anyone knows of any good research into b/feeding and diet - i.e. what / how what you (mum) eats gets through to the milk?

Sorry, too knackered to make that sentence better but you know what I mean, I hope!

I ask because I'm beginning to wonder if DD has an intolerance and wondering what the likely candidates are. Seems a lot of waffle on the internet on the subject and would prefer to read something I trusted i.e. properly researched

Thanks!

Don't know any research but will watch tread with interest. dd, 23wks, has always been really bothered by wind. And i'm begining to wonder if she has some sort of allergy. I'm fed up wondering what I can eat and what I can't or what have I eaten thats giving her a problem? Its a fairly bland diet as it is.

what can i feed my baby by susannah olivier and digestive wellness in children by elizabeth lipski.

not specifically bfing, but i have found this invaluable for my bfing ds who is sensitive to many foods,

likely candidates,
milk, wheat, all dairy, eggs, tomato,

i went gluten free and dairy fre, plus eggs tomato and spice free.

lots of shepherds pie, rice milk, brocolli

Kellymom is always a good place to start - usually quite reliable. How old is your child? A lot of apparent allergies turn out to be 'baby is just sicky' when the baby grows up a little. DS was such a vomity baby and DD used to get really fractious whenever I had some fruits or curry. But with both, by four months it had magically got better.

'the allergy bible' is sensible and clear
it describes exclusion diets and how to go about identifying intolerances

I don't know about any research either, although 'What to Expect...the First Year' has alot of information about what you should be eating when breastfeeding. My DD definitely had an intolerance to onions - they gave her very bad wind and I couldn't eat anything with onion in it for months! I am sure I have read about other possible candidates but can't remember where...I will post again if I remember though.

My diet isn't great (some good stuff but loads of junk - chocolate etc) and I was told on here it won't negatively affect dd, but might affect me.
