6wk breastfed baby poo seems to be frothy

Hi

After a slow start on the poo side of things for my exlusively BF DD, she is slowing becoming more regular, at nearly 6wks old.

This morning she did her biggest poo yet (sorry if you are eating, its making me feel sick just writing it!) it smelt very sour milky, which I might expect and it was frothy. It was normal yellowy colour. I thought that the froth was due to the force it was expelled with! But i've spotted the nappy bag in the bin and its blown up like football and it smells really fermented in the bin.

Is this normal stuff for BF poo? She is usually very windy too.

Thanks!

Yep, and it gets worse - expect neck high poos from now on! Depending on what you've eaten you can get all manner of bizarro textures! DD was very expulsive and would regularly poop all over herself, nothing could contain it. Sometimes I could tell exactly what I'd eaten the day before from the smell as well 'mmmm carrots'

Well done for getting breastfeeding established properly though, you know you are due a big growth spurt about now and you will be nursing round the clock?
