Natural term breastfeeding/extended breastfeeding - calling all experts, can you help?

This thread is on behalf of a friend ...

Before I start, can I please ask that you do not reply on this thread if (for any reason) you do not agree with natural term breastfeeding. This is not a thread for debate.

My friend is feeding her 18mo dd every morning and every night, and sometimes through the night.
She is going through a fairly unpleasant custardy battle with her ex over her children and her knobhead ex is insisting that she is 'only' feeding her dd to stop him from getting joint custody.
He insists that their dd isn't getting any nutritian from breastfeeding, and as he won't accept that there is more to bf-ing than nutritian, he is saying that there is no reason that she shouldn't be fully weaned.

My friend, quite rightly IMHO, wants to allow her dd to self-wean and doesn't want to be dictated to by her ex as to when she should wean her dd.

Can anyone point me towards any literature regarding natural term breastfeeding and its benefits.

TIA
