BF and losing too much weight (me... not DS!)

DS2 is nearly one and is feeding twice a day. I am losing too much weight and look dreadful. I eat like a horse - three good meals a day, snack and have a chocolate addiction. I have 2 DS's so I never sit still, I feel fine and have plenty energy so it's not affecting my general health. Anyone else had this and what do I do? Is this "nature" telling me it's time to stop?

Me too, Tigermax. My ds1 took every calorie out of me and more. He was hugely fat, I was terribly thin.

Sorry to say, but stopping was the only thing that made a difference and it still took me a good year to gain some weight.

I have had this with each baby - big weight loss peaking around about 12 months-ish
DD is now approaching 2 and I'm starting to gain a bit again.
The doctor ran loads of tests this time around as I was down to 7 1/2 stone and not feeling great, but nothing was found.

Quashing my extreme envy, it is possible you have an over active thyroid. Have a look here. The problem is that many of the symptoms for both over and under active thyroid can also be symptoms of being a new mum. It's pretty common after pregnancy. May be worth getting checked out at the doctors.

I've lost loads of weight too since DS was born. I have just switched to using full fat milk instead of semi skimmed and hope that helps! My big problem is I forget to eat though
