When is it safe to buy a new bra? (stopped feeding)

Quick and simple question: breastfed my son for 16 months - for last wee bit was down to one small feed a day. It's been just over 2 weeks since we stopped and I'm just wondering when it's safe to get measured and buy a new bra? What's the general consensus? Don't want to spend money and have my boobs shrink!!

I can't answer your question - am wondering the same myself - but I just wanted to ask you if you've stopped producing milk now?
I also stopped bfing just over 2 weeks ago, but one boob is still producing milk - the other one seems to have dried up. How long is this likely to go on for? Anyone?
Sorry for hijacking!!!

Hi! Had 4 wee ones and breastfed them all. I'd go and get yourself fitted for new bra as soon as you feel you want to. Bear in mind that if you've only just finished feeding it's prbably wise to go for a non wired one to begin with while your boobs settle a bit and for comfort (I still haven't gone back to underwired after last ds actually - can't get used to wires again!) and also bear in mind that you will probably need to be fitted again a intervals as your breasts go down a bit. There's no right and wrong but it is important to wear one that fits so just don;t go hog wild buying up the whole of the shop seeing as you may well need a smaller size in a few months...
With regard to milk production, this can last for a while after stopping feeding, often depending on how it stopped (ie did you instigate stopping or did your baby suddenly decide enough was enough). With ds 2 he suddenly decided he'd had enough and so I had a good supply and it took a while for me to get rid of the milk producing messages!

Thanks for the bra advice - I'm thinking of going tomorrow to get measured etc. I'm sure I can't possibly get smaller though!!!
I stopped feeding gradually, and it was instigated by me. LO had been having just a bedtime feed, then I stopped when she stopped being so interested in it. I don't have much milk each day, but have had to express a bit every few days... Thanks for letting me know it might take a while to dry up!

It took my boobs about a month to settle down to a size after I stopped BF - so nice to get some new bras!. I stopped producing milk about 2 weeks later - I guess it is different for everyone.

After ds1 I was a massive 4 cup sizes bigger than pre-children and they never went down so when I got pregnant with ds2 I started off big and got bigger!! After that, though, things settled and I am now about what I was before I had them all...or I would have had to get industrial scaffolding involved!
