Milk supply low in one boob!

I have a 8wk old DD, bf has been going really well until this week. She has always favoured one boob over the other but it just meant that it took slightly longer to get latched on on the un-favoured (not sure of right word there!?) side.

The last few days I noticed that my milk supply seems to be low in that boob and that has made her even more fussy on it now.

Any ideas on what I should do? At the moment I'm putting her to that boob first at every feed to try to get her to suckle when she is most hungry and I'm using my breast pump to try to stimulate production.

I'm also trying the rugby ball style of feeding to try to trick her into thinking she is on her favourite side - this worked once but she is now wise to it!

Is there anything else I can do? Having had 2 months of problem-free bf, would hate for it to all go wrong now.

yes, you can bump yourself :D

i think you're prob doing all the right things tbh, but fwiw it's possible to just feed from one side full time.

oh actually, one other thing, you could try taking her to an osteopath or something to see if there is anything making her feel uncomfortable when she lies on that side

I also have this problem, fast food on one side. The way I've made it work (after advice on here) was to offer her the slow side first everytime. Slowly it builds up your supply and for me it's worked. HTH good luck.

Thanks, will I not end up with wonky uneven boobs if I just feed on one side??

Have had someone recommend an osteopath actually but never thought anymore about it, maybe I should give that a go.

you shouldn't get wonmky boobs. well, you might for a little bit, but they do settle down eventually.
i know a couple of people who have done it.

that said, I think it's prob worth persevering with both sides for the time being cos it might jus tbe something she grows out of

Thanks, thought I was doing all I could but just wanted to check that there wasn't something I hadn't thought of. Will persevere with it and hopefully things will improve.
