breastfed toddler and ear infections

My DD is just 2 and still breastfeeding (much to my DH,MIL,friends' disgust but that is another story!). The problem is she seems to be very prone to ear infections and I am concerned that this is due to the amount of feeding she still does lying down at night (Co sleeping) - which I know she doesnt need but she thinks she does! I am sure that I have read somewhere that giving a baby a bottle means the milk can "pool" in their ear tubes and lead to infections, is this not the same thing as me feeding her?

My DH thinks I am contributing to the ear infections that she keeps getting with the breastfeeding, she also gets a lot of chest infections and coughs as well, all of which he claims are because she breastfeeds so much. Which I know is really a lot of rubbish but it is hard to tell people about the health benefits of a toddler still breastfeeding when I am at the drs most weeks with my DD!!!

I don't know but I'll be watching for answers as my ds was (and still is) prone to ear infections and he used to feed lying down a lot. I'd never heard about the theory of the milk pooling. My dd still feeds a lot in the night; I'd like to think I'm not exposing her to the risks of ear infections.
