help! confused about how much milk to give in a bottle (not done bottle before)

Just giving ds (10 weeks) his first bottle of formula, just because I want him to get used to a bottle, and to make sure he will take formula if for any reason he needs to in future - like if I ever want to go out ever again. I don't intend doing it regularly.

But I don't know how much to give - the amount in the carton seems masses - I can't believe he takes that much from me during his bedtime (or any) feed.

(I've no idea how much to give when I express either. I usually only manage a couple of oz, and he still seems hungry after that)

any advice on amounts please? Are they different for formula and breastmilk?

Why not just give the amount stated and see how much he takes of it - that's what I did sometimes he drank it all sometimes less etc - it's a bit trial and error.
