4 month old- pooing at least 5 times a day

Hi I have a 4 month old DD who is EBF. This past few days she has been pooing at least once a feed (I feed her at three hourly intervals during the day as she seems to need it then and is still only 11lb at nearly 18 weeks old). Her birth weight was 5lb 13.

I was just wondering if this was normal. The poos are yellow mostly and sometimes have solid looking bits in sometimes not. I am not worried she is a healthy little thing but she has never done this much pooing before and I am curious. Is this just a normal developmental thing as I have read on mn that a lot happens at this age and maybe she is digesting her milk quicker?

Steffi my DD - who sounds pretty similar to yours (birthweight 6 lbs, is now 12lbs at 17 weeks, also feeds 3 hourly...) did this last week, for a few days. And so, funnily enough, did at least half the babies in my NCT group. Don't know if that means they all had the same, very mild, bug, or just coincidence but either way, it passed and didn't seem to trouble them!
