Is it OK to just bfeed? She has had half a yogurt and a bite of toast today, has slept for last 4 hours (not like her at all) She has cold, is teething, and had MMR two weeks ago. She is in no danger of wasting away I guess, got a cracking double chin. Missing lunch isn't the end of the world is it? I worry she is sleepy because she hasn't eaten.

She is probably sleepy because she needs to extra rest to get better

My DD is the same age and has most of the above - she is quite mis and only wants boob. She also has a double chin LOL I think it's fine (if a bit wearing) as the breastmilk has lots of anti-infective goodies in it and the comfort does help her. Obv if I thought she was losing weight I would take her to the doctor but it's just a cold and she will get her appetite back again - it's happened before.

But.............. if you are worried take her to the doctor.

Worry not.

My dd's exactly the same with a cold. Only wants milk, milk and milk. Can last a few days.

Don't worry. As long as she wants milk and is hydrated, it's fine, normal, not a worry, expected...

Sleeping lots is fine too. She's fighting an infection. As long as she's rousable and alert when awake, she's just recovering.

Of course a GP is a must if you are at all concerned. Listen to your instincts, but be reassured that it is normal behaviour.

Fine.

My kids weren't bfed by this age so when they were off their food, they lived on not much more than fresh air for a few days.

They eat like a horse once they're better though
