Nutritional values of BM when tandem feeding?

Have just been looking at this Kellymom link - and am musing about how nutrition of BM works when you are tandem feeding? Does the milk reset itself when the new baby is born or is the new baby fed the more mature milk?

I had some issues with my newborn not pooing very frequently, which I know in the early weeks is unsual if feeding is going well (it was (I think) as weight gain was very good) and am now wondering if this could have been due to the higher fat contect of my milk as I had already been lactating for >1 year.

Anyone any experience/thoughts on this?

IME my breast milk seemed to revert to colostrum during the pregnancy, then change back to mature milk (very very quickly) after the birth. I would imagine that nature ensures that the new baby gets the milk best for him/her in preference to the toddler.
