how much weight should my newborn be gaining each week?

just wondering how much your breastfed newborns put on in the first few days and weeks?

My DD is only 4 weeks old but in the first week she lost 4 oz, in the next week she put 2oz back on, and then in the third week she put 7oz on, not been weighed since then so can't comment further. But I believe some weight loss is acceptable as babies get used to BF. Although this doesn't apply to all newborns.

I would look in your red book to see if she is following the line and what percentile she is tracking. Not sure if it helps but my 4 week old was 10 and a half pounds last week and was 8lbs13oz at birth.
