Thinking of giving up breastfeeding - dd2 is teething and hurting me. Any advice?

Hi, dd2 is 4 months old. She has 2 bottom teeth for over a month now and is teething. She keeps biting down and pulling my nipple through her closed mouth. I am in agony today. I fed dd1 for 10 months and don't really want to stop but I am sore and miserable. How to do I stop her? She is very young to understand. I looked at her yesterday and said a stern 'no' and the cheeky monkey laughed at me. Of course I laughed too so that got me nowhere.

Oh I'll read replies wiht interest. BabyG is 21 weeks old but has no teeth yet - I'm dreading it tbh!

Say no in a firm voice and put your boobs away. (No laughing!) Do not offer them again for 5 minutes or so. Even at 4 mths she will soon learn biting / messing = no milk.

If she is feeding she will not hurt you. It sounds like she is just playing, which you need to discourage for your poor nipple's sake.
