Don't Dismiss Me, I Wanna Make Money outta My Milk

Seriously, don't dismiss me but I honestly wanna try and make some money selling my breast milk before DC3 doesn't want it anymore.
I'm a SAHM mom and really could do with extra income for the family purse and believe there must be a way to profit from my milk production.
I have already done my bit for the NHS Milk Bank and donated for the last 6 months.
I'd seriously consider wet nursing or selling my EBM for consumption.
Can anyone advise any organisations or direct me to any websites that buy breast milk or recruit wet nurses?

Out of interest, how much are you thinking of selling it for?
My friend has just given me about 15 pints of her spare EBM so I don't have to use formula now ds is in nursery part time. (Can't quite pump enough to cover the 3 sessions)

nickschick · 31/03/2009 23:23

There was a thread on here last week about a womn in tacy mag that sold her breast milk to blokes .,......

cazzaben · 31/03/2009 23:26

Not really anything to do with the money aspect of it but I was just browsing and wanted to say how fantastic that would be...
If I had known about this 10 months ago I would bought it off you and not given my DS formula

How noble of your friend Hiding!
MMM, why not,it's worth its weight in gold.
There was an article in Chat or Take a break or summat like that this wee kon a woman woh was giving it to her father who had cancer.
Most amazing thing was the tone. Not sensational or disapporving at all!

Thank you all who have responded so far, relavent replies still greatly appreciated.
HuwEdwards I think you're very rude. Selling my breast milk could give me an income and allow me to remain a full time SAHM.
Re consumption - Mothers who'd prefer to feed thier baby's BM could take advantage of my supply.
BM contains stem cells which could help cancer sufferers.
Someone looking for a healthy and nutrious 'tonic' might want to add a BM drink to their diet.
Re wet nursing, I have loved feeding my 3 children, snugling and cuddling them and took great pride in watching them grow as a direct result of my BM and as it's highly unlikely that I'll have more children I'd love the opportunity to do that for someone else's child.
So troll right back at ya!

HidingmyMNname, can I be of help to you then? Where are you based? If you wanna get in touch do so via the My Mumsnet CAT system.

Ah

HidingmyMNname · 01/04/2009 07:24

I know Moondog, I was so grateful. She had expressed like mad 'just in case' but is taking a full year off and now baby is on solids and not taking as much bm the stockpile was going to go out of date.
I am very lucky
