I've told both of my sons "No" in a firm voice and taken them off the breast for a minute. They didn't bite me many times so it seems to have worked!

Just say no

I used to do it in a voice which was no nonsense and made her cry . She learned very quickly. I think it can depend on the baby though- one of my friends' babies never learned and in fact thought it was funny and used to draw blood, so that was the end of her bf career.

You could be me, misdee. Dd is 5 months now and is just getting her second tooth.

Saying 'No' and taking her off the breast does seem to work, but it's difficult not to scream first, which in my case made dd either cry or laugh!

If it helps, I found that dd didn't bite so much once the tooth was properly through, just when she was cutting.
