Follow on milk at 6 months, any need?

Ds2 is 6 months and being weaned, he is ff and has aptimil 1st milk.

I read on the milk info that at 6 months their iron stores drop, and follow on milk is a good thing as it contains extra iron, is this really neccesary?

no - it is not necessary

i say this with hindsight of course

No.

The reason they make follow on milk is that they are allowed to advertise it (and therfore the brand) whcih they are not alloewd to do for a newborn formula.

None of mine have ever had follow on formula and 2 of them were premature and had practically non existent natural iron stores after multiple blood transfusions.

its made so they can legally advertise their brand of formular milk
