Took nearly a year to dry up fully (I fed for 15mths) and then they were less 'perky' than before. However I increased by one size i.e. from 34 to 36 but cup size went from C to B. So who knows !!

CMOTdibbler · 26/03/2009 10:09

Mine haven't drooped or reduced in size. I didn't get back to my pre pg size until I'd been feeding for 18 months though. Nearly a year after finishing feeding, they are virtually identical to before pg

Monkeyandbooba · 26/03/2009 10:10

I am feeding DS (who is now 23 weeks) and occasionally wear normal non-wired bras rather than nursing bras (when we...ahem... get jiggy). Can get some pretty ones on Figleaves.

madwomanintheattic · 26/03/2009 10:12

oh. mine definitely had a bad case of empty crisp packet syndrome... took about two years after 3 dcs to get back to pre pg size...
lol @ c btw - what are you trying to dial up?

TheOldestCat · 26/03/2009 10:12

Mine were smaller than their never-large-but-quite-perky pre-pregnancy state once I finished BF DD (around 16/17 months). But I'd also lost a lot of weight so I think that was mostly it. Once I'd had two or three periods (and carried on scoffing cakes at my BF level, so I'd got plumper again) they were pretty much back to normal.

I was 36B before pregnancy and am now 34C (if that means anything to you). They look about the same, maybe slightly less pert.

standanddeliver · 26/03/2009 10:15

I have done five years of breastfeeding - weaned my third baby early last year. I'm 42. My boobs went flat like pancakes when I first weaned, and I was gutted. However, over the next few months they plumped up again and now look fine (for 42 year old boobs that have been through 3 pregnancies - ie, not firm and pert, but pretty respectable. I still have a good cleavage).

notyummy · 26/03/2009 10:15

My understanding is that boobs will droop because of pregnancy and related weight gain/loss....not because of bf IFYSWIM?

I bf for 8 months and my boobs are slightly smaller than before (and they weren't exactly big to begin with!) They are still perky though....there's got to be some compensation for having small ones! I do quite a lot of exercise though, including press ups etc, so possibly that may have helped.

Essie3 · 26/03/2009 10:16

Hahaha, CMOT currently being the favourite post...although I can see myself going the same way as Cat with the cake eating.
Loss of pertness I can deal with - amazing what a good bra can do. (And failing that there's always surgery... )

Mine don't look any different than they did pre pregancy 9 years ago. bf dd for 8 months and ds for 8 months.

SoupDragon · 26/03/2009 10:17

It is pregnancy which wrecks your breasts, not breastfeeding.

I was a 34C before pregnancy and a 34B a year after stopping feeding DS2. 8 months after stopping feeding DD I am now a 34E and they're not droopy

shootfromthehip · 26/03/2009 10:18

I went up to a 44G from a 38DD when feeding my first and am now back to a 38DD. However, my boobs are now a mess- they are kind of like deflated balloons, still largish but don't fill a bra in the way they did- they kind of puddle at the bottom. I am gutted as I had great boobs .

Essie - I thoroughly recommend carrying on with the cake. It's for your breasts' sake, you know.

Seriously, saw some good advice here (from tiktok, I think) saying that your body needs a few of the regular non-pregnancy/BF hormones flushing round it to start redepositing fat in the breasts. Apologies for the deeply unscientific explanation (please someone correct me if it's untrue). It just sounds plausible to me.

Essie3 · 26/03/2009 10:22

Ah, now, when I was in labour my bra was exactly a 32C, same size as pre-preg. It was after that it all went all Jordan. Or rather Posh Spice, because they were rock hard and unnaturally large and high!

Changes in your overall body weight (ie 'fatness') will make much more of a difference than pregnancy and/or bf I think.

I think mine were really no different in size/sagginess after pregnancy and 14 months of bf, but I have noticed (before pregnancy) when I lost a couple of stone through dieting then they got much smaller and droopier, sadly!

In answer to your question, I guess they were back to 'normal' pretty soon after stopping bf (within a couple of weeks maybe?)

Essie3 · 26/03/2009 12:17

I've started so I'll finish on the bf. (When, I don't know, though!) So those expensive bras can stay in the drawer a while longer!

I bf for 22 months and I am a 34C again now.

After 9 months they were a right state though.

ginnny · 26/03/2009 12:23

Mine are actually slightly bigger (yay!) since having my babies. I bf ds2 until 9 months. I used to be 34B now I'm 34/36 C.
They are a bit droopy now without a bra on but that's probably down to age rather than bf.

CaptainKarvol · 26/03/2009 12:38

I was a B cup, bf for 21/22 months, evened out very quickly at a softer-than-before C cup. They just look like grown-ups breasts now, not the teenager breasts that I'd somehow managed to hang on to until I was 35!

likessleep · 26/03/2009 14:21

was 34b
now 32a
breastfed for 11 months and finished 8 months ago

merryberry · 26/03/2009 15:00

bf 2 for combined 14 mths, gone up from C cup to DD and stayed bigger. but softer, expecting to hear seismic thump and as they hit the ground any day soon

MrsHD · 27/03/2009 20:36

Can't remember what happened size wise after feeding DD, but my boobs were very well behaved and looked more or less like before. Not sure what state DS will leave them in though! I continued to produce milk for 7 months after stopping feeding DD.

If your back size is bigger or smaller after BF then your cup size will change as cup size is relative to back size.

pagwatch · 27/03/2009 20:41

I am the same weight as I was before BFing all my three children. I have broadly the same body shape/structure etc etc. But I have gone from a 34B to a 34AA.
Absoloutely no doubt that bfing made my breasts shrink. My children ate my boobs
